BlackBerry A10 to launch in November

BlackBerry’s next flagship handset will be the BlackBerry A10 and will launch in November, reports claim.
According to CNET’s unnamed sources, the BlackBerry A10 will be another touch-only model like the BlackBerry Z10 and will replace it in the company’s product line-up as the top-end flagship device. Apparently the Z10 and Q10 will become mid-range and the Q5 and rumoured Z5 will be in the ‘affordable’ bracket. Assuming there will also be a keyboard-equipped premium model this will complete the rumoured six BlackBerry 10 phones for 2013 portfolio.
The report also claims US network Sprint has already signed up to carry the handset, though neither BlackBerry or Sprint have said anything about the rumour at time of writing. It’s also said the carrier agreement is not thought to be an exclusive.
It’s believed the BlackBerry A10 is likely the handset company CEO Thorsten Heins dropped hints about earlier in the year when he said a new flagship was in development to replace the BlackBerry Z10 and would arrive before the close of 2013.
Not much is known about the BlackBerry A10 at this point but it’s believed it will feature an all-round spec boost over the BlackBerry Z10’s dual-core Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon processor, 16GB of storage and 8-megapixel camera. It isn’t expected to feature a sharper screen, however, as BlackBerry has previously stated it will not be producing Full HD 1080p displays in 2013 – we may have to wait until 2014 for that.
